Netflix (NFLX) investors saw the stock closing -8.84% the last 5 days, which means it sits at +7.53% YTD.
Let's go through the news around Netflix this week together.
LEGEND: Positive News | Neutral News | Negative News
Netflix is looking to open it's first office in Vietnam. This has been something in the works for many years to have a bigger presence in the region of over 100 million people.
This office (once it opens) will be a huge milestone for Netflix (and US tech in general) to start penetrating a massive growth opportunity.
Netflix announced a price cut for their platform in 30 countries. The regions include Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and Asia (nothing in North America).
The question remains - is this a defensive move from Netflix because competition is eating their lunch in these regions/they have low user adoption? Or, more positively, is this an offensive move to squeeze out competition by making them compress margins to match Netflix's price and eventually fold to Netflix?
Only time will tell.
There were no new analyst changes to report this week for Netflix.
We look forward to spending a few minutes with you next Sunday for some new Netflix news!
